Artworks from the 16th Century to the present are housed in the Museum’s permanent galleries. The Museum’s Contemporary American Still Life collection is among the most recognized in the country. Familyplace science gallery offers a variety of hands-on exhibits, providing fun learning experiences for all ages. The Anthropology Gallery offers a fascinating look at cultures from 13,000 BC to the present. Stroll down the street of a 19th Century American rivertown to see ornately decorated homes and shops. The Koch Planetarium provides explorations of the solar system. EMTRAC, the Evansville Museum Transportation Center, traces the history of transportation from the dug out canoe to the steam engine. In the winter of 2014, the Koch Immersive Theater is scheduled to open, offering a unique 360 degree experience of astronomy programs, remote astronomical observations, and film screenings. « less
