The World’s 6 Best Trekking Trails

Are you feeling stressed out and tired? Do you need a reinvigorating vacation? If your answer is a big and resounding ‘yes’, then leave your daily stresses behind, and get up and close with Mother Nature, by taking an epic trekking adventure. Whether you are an experienced backpacker or an average dude who wants to get a glimpse of nature’s amazing wonders, there are a lot of gorgeous trails waiting to be explored and discovered. Here are a few excellent trekking trails that will surely take your breath away.

Himalayas, Nepal

For years, this trekking trail has been a boon for many trekkers and outdoor enthusiasts. Not only does the Himalayas in Nepal owns a plethora of picturesque natural wonders like the Pangong Tso Lake, but it also serves as a home to some of the world’s highest peaks. Obviously, these mountains can be a tough and challenging trail for any backpacker or hiker.

Superior Hiking Trail, Minnesota, USA

Often touted as one of America’s hiking trails, the Superior Hiking Trail is a fascinating and formidable 275-mile trekking trail that will give you a heavy dose of fun and adventure. As a hiker, the trail gives you panoramic views of Lake Superior as well as passes though lush forests of cedar, fir, pine, aspen and birch. What’s more, you get to catch a glimpse of crystal clear rushing waterfalls and a myriad of wildlife.

Inca Trail, Peru

Designed by the Incas, the ancient 20-mile trail is traversed by a great number of hikers every year. The trail starts from Machu Picchu’s Sacred Valleys, winds around the region’s verdant mountains, and takes hikers through a few high passes. In this hiking trail, hikers get to enjoy views of high cloud forest and white-tipped mountains coupled with excitement of walking through breathtaking trails and landscapes, understandably making it the most famous trekking trail in all of South America.

Simien Mountains, Ethiopia, Africa

Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Ethiopia’s Simien Mountains are considered by many trekkers as one of the world’s most beautiful trails, and for a good reason. After all, these mountains offer superb camping and outdoor experience, exotic wildlife, as well as surreal mountain peaks and rocky outcrops. Combine all of these offerings with a trekking adventure (across this ancient African land dotted with ancient obelisks, medieval castles and rock-hewn churches), and you will experience the true essence of Eastern Africa.

GR20, France

With its awe-inspiring diverse landscapes, it is no surprise the GR20 draws hordes of hikers and outdoor adventurists every day. Slogging through Corsica, this uphill 104-mile trekking trail allows you to pass through the region’s breathtaking plains, snow-capped peaks, peat bogs, torrents, glacial lakes, windswept craters, granite moonscapes and forests. Keep in mind, though, this trail is not an easy hike by any means. In this trail, you will have to pass by a steep and rocky path with slippery rock faces and rickety bridges, which can add an extra element of fun and adventure to your trekking trip.

Kalalau Trail, Kauai, Hawaii

Taking a hike on Kalalau Trail is an exciting journey you cannot afford to miss during your Hawaiian vacation of Kauai. With this trekking trail, you get to pass through the Na Pali coastline, an impressive stretch of coastline that boasts a very dramatic natural backdrop. As a hiker in this trail, you get to feast your eyes of sheer cliffs that drop into the turquoise waters below, verdant tropical valleys with picturesque waterfalls, as well velvet and green coated mountains. To top it all off, the coastline has vantage points, where you can watch pods of green sea turtles, dolphins and humpback whales.
