Disneyland New Years Magic!
A holiday to Disneyland is magical, so why not make something already as magical as the New Year’s Eve and spend it in Disneyland?
Doesn’t matter what age you are, you’ll still watch a Disney movie from time to time or watch the new upcoming ones. While Disney has been expanding tremendously over the years and buying different franchises such as Star Wars, it’s hard to imagine a world without the Sleeping Beauty Castle and Mickey Mouse.
Only keep in mind that this is a popular destination during New Years. The people who will think that surely this ride or at said time there will be no queue have thought of the same (wrong) thing and the queues will always be huge. But don’t worry: there is a cure for the queue blues in the form of an app called Wishing Stars, designed by a big Disney fan, which will keep your family, friends or yourself very well entertained.
Also another tip: try to arrive as early as possible, as they will stop letting people in to avoid overcrowding. Don’t forget that you shouldn’t exit the park either as they will stop letting people in (even those with tickets) after a certain hour as well. Make sure you plan your day properly to stay within the park for the whole day (if you intend to be there at midnight), and get some proper rest beforehand! Also, it will be very very crowded so make sure you all hold hands at any time so that no one will get lost. Use Fastpass as much as you can as well to get on more rides.
But even with all the facts that you have to keep in mind, Disneyland will be lovely with all of it’s Christmas decorations. Don’t worry: even if you don’t manage to stay until the full thing, there will be earlier shows which are targeted at a younger audience to make sure that they will get to see their fair share of fireworks as well! There will be one at 5 p.m. and one around 8.45 p.m.
The main fireworks will of course be at midnight, at Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. They take place every day at 10 p.m., but New Year’s is the lovely exception. From 9 p.m. there will be a party with a DJ with appearances from both Mickey and Minnie. Also there will be a party with a different DJ playing popular tunes at the It's A Small World attraction.
Fireworks aside, of course you’ll still go to Disneyland for the attractions so choose wisely as you won’t have a lot of time due to the queue and the crowds. Even if Disneyland will be open until late, it doesn’t mean that after midnight the queues will magically disappear. But yes, you will have time until 2 a.m. or so to enjoy rides from the beginning of the day, so a festive and wonderful day will truly be ahead!
There will also be a wide choice of food and restaurants to choose fro. Preferably book a table, but keep in mind that only some of these premises will allow alcohol as Disney is strict about its consumption. If you’re going to Disneyland Paris, they have released a book which contains all of the menu during the festive season so you can have a look on it online (with an astonishing file size of no less than 34+ MB).
