How To Upload The Perfect Cover Photo On Trekeffect Stories

June 23, 2018

Having problems finding the best main photo for your Trekeffect story? Is your story’s cover photo showing up weird on Facebook? Let’s face it, online technology can be oftentimes a little mysterious, even for a computer whiz.  And, that’s why we’ve created a short guide for all Trekeffect bloggers who are having issues uploading their photos on our travel blogging platform.

Important note: We’ve received a few emails and DMs regarding about our mobile compatibility. Currently, some “stories” features, especially the photo uploading tool, don’t work on some smartphones. On the bright side, though, we’re working diligently to fix our mobile compatibility issues, so we can make things a whole lot simpler on your end. As a matter of fact, we’re building a mobile app with a ton of travel blogging and travel planning features. Make sure to keep an eye on that.

The first photograph on your story is your cover photo

Facebook automatically picks the first photo on your Trekeffect travel blog as your story’s cover photograph. So, select the best photo that you want to make as your cover photo, and put it on top of the story.

Pick a landscape photo

In photography, landscape refers to a type of photo that’s wider than it is tall (horizontal oriented). For the most part, it’s used in, as the term suggest, landscape photography. We recommend landscape shots, as cover photos, because Facebook prefers horizontal oriented pictures.

Here are some samples:

Portrait photography, on the other hand, refers to photos that are taller than their width (vertically oriented). Here’s an example of a portrait photo.

You can upload and use portrait photos on our Trekeffect travel story. But, for your cover photo, we highly suggest that you pick a landscape photo.

Picking the right size

The optimal size for a blog post or shared link on Facebook is 1,200 x 627 pixels. If your cover image is 1,500 x 1,000 pixels, Facebook will instantly convert it to 1,200 x 627 pixels.

To get Facebook’s ideal size, resize or crop your photo using https://www.ribbet.com/app.

Once you’ve opened the app, click upload photo, and select the photo that you want to edit.

Hit resize (while keeping the “keep proportions” tab checked), change the width to 1,200 pixels, and click “apply”.

Crop the image.

Save photo.

Upload your photo on Trekeffect “stories”.

That’s it! Let us know if you need any help uploading photos on stories!
