2. Makkah Clock Royal Tower, Makkah, Saudi Arabia
This building is known as much for the giant clock face that can be seen up to 25 kilometers away as it is for its height. The clock tower and hotel rises 1,972 feet from the ground. Construction began in 2004 and was completed in 2012. This building consists of 120 floors above the ground and three below ground. There are 94 elevators servicing the building.

3. The CN Tower, Toronto, Canada
Toronto’s CN Tower is 1,815 feet tall. It is known for having the tallest observation deck on record, at 1,465 feet. 5. Taipei 101, Taipei, Taiwan
Located in the Xinyi District of Taipei, the office building called Taipei 101 rises 1,667 feet from the ground. From 2004 until 2009, it bore the distinction of being the tallest building in the world, up until the Burj Khalifa was completed.

7. Petronas Towers, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
This set of twin towers rises 1,483 feet above Kuala Lumpur. Visitors can cross the skybridge linking the two towers at levels 41 and 42 or wander through the gift shop. The beauty of this structure is in the stunning views of Kuala Lumpur that it affords visitors.
